DESCRIPTION:This year\, DOK Leipzig – International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film takes place October 8 to 15. Every year during the festival week\, the extended reality exhibition DOK Neuland invites visitors to experience unexpected stories in virtual spaces. \n\nSince 2015\, DOK Neuland has provided an exhibition platform for the art of interactive and immersive works. This experience is made possible by technologically advanced new media such as virtual reality\, augmented reality or 360° films\, all with bold narratives that tap into the revolutionary potential that unfolds when art and technology collide. By taking advantage of the possibilities presented by new media\, selected artists break with familiar story lines\, expand the boundaries of our reality and\, together with visitors\, explore the interaction between humans and machines to create new realms of experience.

DESCRIPTION:DOK Exchange XR is a part of DOK Leipzig – International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film: an inspiring program on interactive and immersive storytelling\, giving the opportunity to connect with brilliant experts\, consult XR works-in-progress and keep in touch with the international XR community. \n  \nThe event is composed of two parts: \nThe DOK Echange XR Conference featuring brilliant speakers offering an in-depth exploration of XR creation (on-site presentations with online transmission for remote attendees). \nThe DOK Exchange XR Showcase featuring selected cutting-edge XR projects presenting their work-in-progress in front of a live audience\, followed by feedback from experts from the fields of research\, funding\, distribution\, art and technology. \n  \nSubmissions for the DOK Exchange XR Showcase are open until August 10.
